Obituary for RIDOUT

Douglas Wayne Ridout, age 67, of Riverside, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at his home. He was born December 28, 1939 in Petersburg, VA, the son of Willie Snead and Iva Dorothy (Wray) Ridout. He was an ace pitcher for Petersburg High School. While in the Air Force he played for the Kirkland Flyers, Hickam Flyers, and won the World Fastpitch Championship. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force, a Management Engineer Civil Service for the Armed Forces; and received numerous commendations during his military career. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willis and Boyden Ridout. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Kunath) Ridout; three sons and their wives, Brian and Andra, Bobby and Stephanne, Boyden and Jennifer; ten grandchildren; one grandchild on the way; and brother, Glen Ridout; and his sisters-in-law, Alice, Lizzie and Nadine Ridout. On his last day he played golf with his sons, enjoyed a good dinner with his family, and kissed his youngest grandchild goodnight. He will be sorely missed by everyone that he touched. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Elder Dan Steinke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of Services.
