Helen Elizabeth Mulvihill, 95, of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007. Helen was born on May 28, 1911 to Thomas and Susan McLean in Worcester, MA. She met and married Eugene Mulvihill of New York and that is where they resided. Helen was employed as telephone supervisor for American Telephone and Telegraph Co. for 15 years. Helen and Gene had two children, Susan and Robert, who have both preceded her in death. When her husband retired from the New York City Fire Dept., they moved to Rio Rancho, NM where they enjoyed their retirement years. Eugene passed away in August of 1991. In recent years, Helen moved to the Rio Rancho Nursing Home where she lived until her death. Helen was a charter member of Elks Ladies Lodge #2500, a Life Member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #118, a Life Member of the Rosary Society at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and a member of the Sanborn Federated Republican Women. Helen had one sister, Viola K. Slattery and one brother, Frank M. McLean (both deceased). Helen is survived by her nephew, Stephen Slattery of Sacramento, CA; a great-niece and -nephew; and two great-great-nephews. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rio Rancho. Interment will be private. Friends are asked to join together after the Mass at the Church Hall for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift to the charity of your choice.
