Rosalia S. Cervantes, 94, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Sanchez and husband, Eloy, Geneva Ortiz and Steve Cervantes and wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Carol Hoppe, Louis T. Cervantes, Christine Ayala and husband, Phillip, Paul Cervantes and Julie Garrison, Loretta Sanchez, Steven Cervantes and wife, Emer, Monte Cervantes, Julie Bock and husband, Sam; great-grandchildren, Frank Faris and wife, Ellen, Camille Faris, Louise Cervantes, David Cervantes, Brooke Ayala, Matthew Ayala, Brynn Ayala, Stephen Cervantes, Dillon Cervantes, Megan Cervantes, Mikie Cervantes, Monte Cervantes Jr., Adam Cervantes, Rebecca Cervantes, Joshua Cervantes, Jalin Castillo, and Braden Bock; great-great-grandchildren, Cole and Ryan Faris. She was preceded in death by her son, Louie Cervantes; and by her 11 brothers and sisters. She was known as an exceptional, self-sacrificing mother and for her excellent cooking, including at the Vineyard Retirement Community. She also enjoyed gardening and socializing with her family and friends. Rosary will be recited Sunday, May 6, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Monsignor Richard Olona, celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Sunday, May 6, 2007, 6:00 p.m. until Rosary.
