James P., "Rusty" Scales, CMSGT/AF(Ret) , 83, was born March 20, 1924 and went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2007. He was a devoted husband, father, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edith; children, James E. and wife, Sandy of Albuquerque, Ronald G. and wife, Cyndy of Tucson, AZ, Donna R. Walhood and husband, Gordon of Albuquerque, and Tina M. Lange and husband, Martin of Sarasota, FL; and daughter-in-law, Mary Scales of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard A. on November 27, 2006. Jim had a distinguished military career of 33 years which included tours of duty in Italy (WWII Army Air Corp), Korea, Thailand, Guam, Philippines, and Japan. After retiring from a second career at GE, he and his wife Edith enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family around the country. Jim and Edith renewed their wedding vows on their 50th anniversary in 1995. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 1, 2007, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2007, 10:30 a.m. at Faith In Christ Lutheran Church, Chelwood and Indian School. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors.
