Rosella "Rosie" V. Maes, 85, of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 28, 2007. She was born on February 14, 1922 to Federico and Refugio Velasquez of Willard, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Maes; daughter, Edwina Montoya; brothers and sisters, Guadalupe, Adolfo, Tranquilino, and Esky. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Godeny and husband, David and Rebecca Martinez and husband, Richard; five grandchildren, Gerald, Kiera, Dominick, Monica, and Mariah; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Elysia, and Evalyn; sister, Connie V. Jarvis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Maes, Fred Velasquez, Ronald Maes, Mike Velasquez, Pablo Mirabal, and Richard Vigil.
