Obituary for DURIO

David B. Durio, DVM, 50, of Hobbs, NM, passed away at Lea Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 22, 2007. David was born on June 17, 1956, in Ft. Collins, CO, to William and Nola Durio. David grew up around the Las Cruces area. He graduated from Gadsen High School in l974, NMSU in 1978, and Colorado State University in 1983 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, David practiced in Ruidoso, NM, before moving to Las Cruces where he owned Mesilla Valley Animal Clinic for 13 years. David was working at Hobbs Animal Clinic at the time of his death. David is survived by his mother, Nola, of Las Cruces; his three daughters, Alison Sanders and her husband, Justin, of Amarillo, TX, Lauren and Carolyn (Carrie) Durio of Denton, TX; his brother, Mark; his nephew, William, both of La Union, NM; and his uncle, Robert Durio of Las Cruces. David was preceded in death by his father, William Durio and his great-aunt, Evangeline Durio. Cremation has taken place at French's Mortuary in Albuquerque and a Memorial Service is pending. Because of Dr. Durio's love for animals and his many years of service in the field of animal care, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
