James "Jim" Edward Hern, 72, a resident of Bosque Farms, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 21, 2007, with the comfort of his family by his side. He was born April 6, 1935 in Pecos, NM, to Augustine and Bertha Hern. James married Sharon F. Favor on December 6, 1968, in Bernalillo, NM. James was a retiree from the United States Army National Guard, with more than 30 years, and also retired from General Electric after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a very outgoing and loving man who enjoyed being around his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon of Bosque Farms; children, Ken Baca, Keith Baca and wife, Shonna, Brandy Moya and husband, George, Sherry Hern and fiance, John Rumley and Aimee Hern-Torres and husband, Manny; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa and Leslie Baca and their mother Laura Baca, Paige Baca, Landon and Dalton Moya, and John, Ethan and Emma Rumley; sisters, Viola Archibeque and Marion Johnson; brothers, Dan Hern and wife, Grace, Abe Hern and wife, Juline, Charlie Hern and wife, Susan, Sam Hern and wife, Dorothy; several nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Services will be Thursday, April 26, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at Christian Fellowship Church, 628 Los Lentes Rd. NE in Los Lunas, 505-865-9851. Interment and military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
