Obituary for HENLEY

Burt Henley, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, passed on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the Heart Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Henley; sons, Richard B. Henley, Jr. and wife, Nikki of Katy, TX and Steven L. Henley and wife, Debbie, of Albuquerque; two grandsons, Ian and Steven Henley of Texas; three granddaughters, Natasha Jarvis, Lisa Sharifi and husband, Ebi, and Katrina Williams and husband, Bret; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Gabriella, Jacquelyn, Brayden, and Bailey; brother, William Larrimore Henley and wife, Lunelle; nieces and nephews, Jan, Ralph, and Larry; and many friends. Burt was preceded in death by his father, Ralph D. Henley; mother, Etoile Henley; and brother, Donald C. Henley. He was born in Pocahontas, AR on March 21, 1931 and moved to Nashville at the age of five months and lived there until he graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1951. He graduated suma cum laude with a BA in physics and a minor in math. His first job was as an Aeronautical Research Scientist-NACA at Langley Field, Virginia. From 1954 to 1971 Burt worked for Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Company. From 1971 to 1991 when he retired, he worked for Gardner-Zemke Company as VP and Chief Estimator. He was a member of Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ since 1971, serving as a deacon. Burt loved his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE Wednesday, April 18, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE, Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Bob Brooks, Paul Ward, Doug Buck, Jim Browning, Ian Henley, and Steven Henley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Annett, Gerald Kendrick, and Willie Denney.
