Obituary for BUTLER

Dora I. Butler, 84, a longtime resident of Moriarty, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Susie E. Swope and husband, Jack, of Ute Park, NM; niece, Carlene Johnston and husband, Dick, of John Day, OR; grandson and long-time caretaker, Ken Chancellor and wife, Rose, of Moriarty; grandchildren, Kathy Potter, Eileen Aguirre, Mary Higgins, Jackie Foster, Ben Swope; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. T. Butler; and son, Pat Butler. Dora welcomed several young people who shared her home. She also held many dances and teen parties. Dora was a co-founder of the Bethel Community Storehouse of Moriarty. She was a school bus contractor for 30 years in the Moriarty School system as well as a member of the Order of the Rebekah. She lived on a ranch in Torrance County since 1928. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 2700 Old Highway 66.
