Obituary for SHAW

Burnham E. Shaw, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 9, 2007. He was born July 23, 1918, the son of Dr. Burnham E. and Nelle Shaw in Cameron, MO. He was a Sigma Nu and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1940. Burny served in WW II as a captain and pilot of a B-17 with the 99th Bomber Group. He moved to Albuquerque in 1970 and was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church. He has been retired for the past 32 years. He loved music, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Burny was preceded in death by his son David. He is survived by Frances Shaw, his wife of 61 years; son, Wiley Shaw and wife, Sharon; daughter, Joanne Hawkins and husband, Frank of Hudson, IA; daughter-in-law, Sheree Shaw; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burny was a wonderful husband and father, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, Albuquerque.
