Acacio "Ace" Montoya, 69, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, went to celebrate with our Lord on April 11, 2007 at 4:20 a.m. Acacio is survived by his beloved wife, Dora of 50 years. Seven children were born through this union, Clarence Montoya, Mary Louise Garcia and husband, Ruben, Paul Edward "Eddie" Montoya and wife, Angela, Patricia Marie Montoya, Debra Ann Abeyta and husband, David and Brenda Lee Montoya. Mr. Montoya was proud of his eight grandchildren, David R. Abeyta Jr., Matthew P. Abeyta, Christopher P. Montoya, Joshua T. Garcia, Julianna Montoya, Antoinette C. Montoya, Jennifer C. Garcia and Dorinda M. Abeyta and a special great-granddaughter, Anisty Irene Abeyta. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Carlos Montoya, Avelina Apodaca, Victoria Armijo and husband, Ernest, Tony Montoya and wife, Vera, Roy Montoya, Albert Montoya, John Montoya and wife, Jane, Sylvia Garcia and husband, Lorenzo and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Acacio was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Delfina Montoya; his son, Santiago "Jimmy" Ignacio Montoya; his brothers, Cesario Montoya, Tranquilino "Kinky" Montoya and Jose Montoya; and a sister, Dimas Caraballo. Ace was an employee of the Albuquerque Country Club for 40 years. He cherished his faith and was an active member and usher at St. Anne Catholic Church. He was born in Chilili and raised in Albuquerque, where he spent the rest of his life. He served his country through the National Guard and enjoyed his leisure time gardening, volunteering at the church and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends who survive him. Visitation will be Friday evening at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father John Tourangeau. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Abeyta Jr. Matthew Abeyta, Christopher Montoya, Joshua Garcia, Ruben Garcia, and Eddie Valencia.
