Obituary for ALLEN

James Edward Allen, former hospitality specialist, made his transition after an extensive illness on April 7, 2007. Born May 3, 1932 in York, PA, Allen served in the Air Force in Korea, attended University of Denver where he graduated with a degree in Hotel Management. Over his long career Allen was the manager of the Sundowner Hotel, Vice-President of Bellamah Corporation's hotel division, including the Four Seasons Hotels in Albuquerque, Colorado Springs and the Ramada Inn Hotel in Pueblo, CO. Allen owned and operated Mr. A's/To It Disco in Pueblo and also managed Maxxam Corp's Pueblo West, CO and Waterwood, TX, Resort Properties. Allen is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Shay; sons, Rafe and Hale; daughter-in-law, Adrienne; and granddaughter, Jade; as well as niece, Kaitlan McCarthy; and nephew-in-law, Rob McCarthy; sisters, Pat Weber and Rosemary McGinn of York, PA; and mother-in-law, Chrystene Hathaway of Albuquerque. James Edward enjoyed golf, games of chance, mentoring, advising and teaching family and friends. His Irish humor and loving personality will be greatly missed by his adoring family. Memorial Services to be Thursday, April 12, 2007, 2 p.m. at the Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living, 3320 San Pedro NE. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to donate to their favorite charity.
