Obituary for STUBBS

Margaret "Margie" Stubbs, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at The Stanton Health Care Center. Born on April 15, 1925 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Ruth Watson. Margie attended Brockport State Teachers College. She spent summers at her family's cottage on Lake Ontario where she met her husband. She and Robert Stubbs were married on May 3, 1947. She retired to Albuquerque, NM in 1979. There she loved to play golf, tennis, to go on cruises and take trips to Las Vegas. She sang in the church choir where she sang many solos and did volunteer work at St. Joseph's Hospital. Margie moved to New York after her husband's passing to be closer to her children and her grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband of 56 years, Robert Stubbs, her sister Pauline Case and her nephew David Case predeceased her. Survivors include her daughter Sandra Beach and her husband Larry of Lake Luzerne; her son David Stubbs of Midlothian, VA; three granddaughters, Michelle (Beach) Winslow and her husband Adam of Johnstown, NY, Jessica Stubbs and her fiance Marc Kokosa of Albany, NY and Rosemary Stubbs and Josh Alden of Fairport, NY, several nieces and nephews and a very dear family friend, Peggie Rowe of Albuquerque, NM. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private. Those who wish may send a remembrance in her name to High Peaks Hospice, 286 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801. Thanks to the Stanton East Wing and to the staff at High Peaks Hospice for the care and comfort they provided for Margie in her final days.
