Charlotte Atencio, age 81, a life-long resident of New Mexico was received into the open arms of Our Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Torrez and husband, Sam, and granddaughter, Krystal; son, Donald Atencio and wife, Shirley, granddaughter, Michelle, grandson Don Daniel and three great- grandchildren; two brothers, Manuel Rivera and Phil Rivera and wife, Vicky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso; parents, Teodorita Rivera Bustos and Abel Rivera; four sisters, Magdalena Naranjo, Emma Cruz, Viola Cossio and Trudy Miranda; three brothers, Jose, Thomas and Elias Rivera. Charlotte loved company and always insisted on serving up a great meal, and her biscochitos where second to none. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 9, 2007 at French Mortuary at 6:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited following viewing at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Torrez, Gene Torrez, Richard Torrez, Bennie Torrez, Tommy Nuanes and Ernie Rivera. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd.
