Obituary for VIGIL

Frank Vigil, affectionally called Pancho, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 after a very brief illness. He was born in Newkirk, NM, on June 15, 1912. Frank is survived by sister, Pauline Duran and husband, Juan of Albuquerque; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews and great- grand-nieces; and many friends. Mr. Vigil was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Vigil and Silveria Madrid Vigil; six sisters, Annie Ortega, Rose Segura, Maggie Chavez, Mary Hernandez, Lois Ruddick and Celenia Romero. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Family members fondly recall their time with Frank on his farm, El Rancho del Rio, outside of Santa Rosa, NM. He loved to hunt and fish, train horses, and used many special skills which include building his own home. This home reflected his skill as a taxidermist. Family and friends will miss his humor and love for life. Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 8, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 9, 2007, 9:00 a.m., at Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Vigil, Ray Knoll, Dennis Segura, Matthew Segura, Pete Stines, Albert Romero, Albert Romero, Jr., Billy Edwards, Paul Duran and John Aaron Duran. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, March 8, 2007, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
