Obituary for BENGEL

Harold R. "Bob" Bengel, 72, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born on December 24, 1934 in Greensburg, PA, the son of Harold E. and Mildred Holdinsky. Bob married Shirley J. Chadwick on March 21, 1954 in Maryland. He was a former employee of Southern Union Gas; and in 1969, he became owner and operator of Bob's Gas Appliance for nearly 30 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Marines Corps, had been a member of the V.F.W. Post 401 of Albuquerque for many years, and held a Life Time membership with the Albuquerque Press Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shirley; daughter, Pam Bengel; son, Howard R. Bengel; grandson, Nathan Boyer, all of Albuquerque; and his beloved Labrador, "Theo." Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
