Obituary for LOPEZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday February 25, 2007

Antonio Eric Lopez, first born son to Inez and Valentina Lopez, was born April 5, 1952. Better known as Tony Eric Lopez, he attended Saint Mary's School. Tony is survived by his son, JR Lopez; four daughters, Yvette, Antoinette, Erica, and Rochelle. All of his children were the light of his life. Tony adored them all and the one thing he wanted more than anything, was to share his love with them. He also left behind his brother, Pete Lopez; grandchildren; cousins; a niece, and nephews. Tony was a bright young man, determined to make a mark on the world. He worked hard all his life, first owning a service station and then a mobile auto repair service. His last organization was an owner/operator in the trucking industry. Tony had a great voice and played the trumpet. He was a very kind hearted person and always helping people every where. A coast to coast driver, Tony had many opportunities to help people all across the country. On at least one occasion he stopped and pulled people out of a burning car and saved their life after an accident. He never gave his name to anyone it was just a part of his day. Tony will be really missed by many people because he left us and went home to rest in the arms of the Lord on February 8, 2007. Our world is less for this loss. He also leaves many friends, especially, Margarita Trujillo and family, who will greatly miss him, but are grateful for gifts of love, fun, treasured memories and the precious time he shared with them. A Memorial Service will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW, on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW, ABQ. 505-343-8008
