Obituary for ARCHIBEQUE

Virginia A. Archibeque, beloved sister and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home on February 13, 2007, at the age of 79 following a brief illness. She was born March 8, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM to the late Miguel and Agatha Archibeque. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Manuel, George, and Michael; sisters, Lena and Mary; and by her nephews, Raymond, Mark, and Martin Sawtelle, and Ernie and James Archibeque. She is survived by her brother, Ernest Archibeque and wife, Genevieve of Albuquerque; and her sister, Ramona Everett and husband, Robert of Kingsville, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who were very dear to her, including niece Mary Starr and husband, Kent; niece, Theresa Caldwell and husband, Pat; nephew, Lawrence Everett and daughter, Kyndall; nephew, Manuel Archibeque and wife, Delfina; and her great-niece and -nephew, Kristen Caldwell and Eric Starr, all whom helped to care for her. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque she attended public school as well as San Felipe de Neri and St. Mary's Catholic schools. She entered the order of the Sisters of St. Francis at age 13 and upon leaving the convent, devoted the remainder of her life to caring for her family. She was employed as a physician's assistant for over 25 years. She was a member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Sacred Heart League and Blue Army. Virginia was a very loving and caring sister, aunt, and friend. Words cannot express how much she is loved and will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited that evening at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Archibeque, Manuel Archibeque, Pat Caldwell, Billy Everett, Lawrence Everett, and Kent Starr. Honorary pallbearers will be Adrian Archibeque, Danny Everett, Robert Everett, and Victor John Martinez.
