Obituary for KUNZMAN

James S. Kunzman, age 54, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 27, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on July 28, 1952 in Fairfield, IA to Wallace and Caroline Kunzman. James was a resident of Albuquerque since 1963. He graduated from West Mesa High School in 1969 and then attended UNM. Jim was the head golf professional at Tierra del Sol in the '80s. His specialty was teaching golf. He coached the Belen High School golf team and they won two state championships. Jim also coached the Special Olympics golf team in the '90s. He was a Mason and an avid La Cueva High School baseball supporter. Jim entered into the insurance business in 1984 and was the most caring agent you could ever want. Jim was the best husband, father, son and brother that a family could ever have. He was a friend to all, gave his time to help everyone at anytime. Jim is survived by his wife, Deborah; his sons, Samuel J. and Mark A. Kunzman; his father, Wallace and wife, Doris Kunzman of Albuquerque; his two brothers, Wallace Jr. and wife, DeeAnn Kunzman of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jeffrey E. and wife, Lucille Kunzman of Los Lunas, NM; Debby's four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Kunzman and his nephew, Cole Kunzman. Jim will be sorely missed, but those who knew him would agree that he would say "Please don't be sad I'm playing ball with Cole." A Memorial Rosary will be on Thursday, February 1, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Deacon Mark Bussemeier. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Monsignor Olona as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to the American Heart Assoc. - NM Affiliate, P.O. Box 90790, 87199-0790.
