Obituary for ELLERBROEK

Patrick Lee Ellerbroek, 24, an undergraduate student at the University of Washington, died unexpectedly on January 17, 2007 in Edmonds, WA. Patrick was born on October 7, 1982 in Los Angeles, CA, and graduated from Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, NM in 1999. Since that time he lived, worked, and attended school in the Seattle area, pursuing a degree in physics in preparation for medical school. He was due to complete his degree in physics in June of this year. He worked as a loan officer for Consolidated Mortgage of Bellevue, WA, interned at the University of Washington Nuclear Physics Laboratory, and volunteered for a variety of research and patient care projects at the University of Washington Medical School. He had a strong love of his friends, music, motor cycles, sports, literature, and skiing. Patrick is survived by his fiancee, Kimberly Schwery of Edmonds, WA; his parents, Nancy and David Neill of Valencia, CA and Brent and Ruth Ellerbroek of Pasadena, CA; grandparents, Ann McGarvey of Santa Monica, CA and David and Judi McGarvey of Alexandria, VA; sister, Valerie Neill of Valencia; brothers, Daniel Ellerbroek of Albuquerque, NM and Kenneth Ellerbroek of Riverside, CA; and stepbrother, Eric Fagerquist of Cardiff, CA. Funeral and Graveside Services will be held at the Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, 323-769-7357, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007. Visitation will be on Friday, January 26, 2007 from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be sent in Patrick's name to the Darfur fund of Doctors Without Borders.
