Obituary for WOLOWICZ

Bertha Josephine Wolowicz was born December 26, 1915 in Mineola, NY to Florence and Frank Zalewski and made her transition to a new life on January 15, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM where she lived for over 50 years. She had a lively spirit and loved to ballroom dance and travel with her husband, Chester, who predeceased her by 30 years. She continued traveling after his death and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards, sewing, crocheting, and visiting with friends. She lived and independent life until recently when her health began to fail. She was a life long Catholic and was very proud of her Polish heritage. She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Ellis of Santa Fe, and Kathleen Padilla of Albuquerque; and three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many dear relatives and friends around the country. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on January 26, 2007 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Vistacare Foundation, 5639 Jefferson NE, Albuquerque, 87109.
