Obituary for POSICH

Alan Chris Posich, born July 4, 1951 at Fort Bragg, NC, died at home on January 4, 2007. Alan, a 30-year resident of New Mexico, graduated from Rutgers University, later acquiring a Master's Degree while teaching in New Mexico. For six years, in the 1970s, Alan ran a primitive ranch in the Sangre de Christo Mountains before becoming an educator in Albuquerque at the Menaul School and later at the Sandia Preparatory School. For the past years he was the director and principal of Educational Consulting and Testing Services. Alan was known for his devotion to helping children learn and do well in school and he was beloved for the positive influence he had on so many. He was also cherished as a wonderful poet. He is survived by his loving family in New Mexico: two daughters, Amber and Osha Posich; his new bride, Amy Ross; and his brother, Kim Posich; his mother, Violetta of Silver Spring, MD; and his three sisters, Enid Foster of Silver Spring, MD, Gwen Meyers of Charlotte, NC, and Ingrid Braulini of Grantham, NH.
