Obituary for CASAUS

Sotero Casaus, age 94, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2007. Sotero was born on February 29, 1912 to Victor and Faustinita (Esther) Casados, in Cuba, NM. Sotero served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He was a life long rancher in the Cuba, NM area. Sotero was a member of our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM and also a member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Martina Martinez, Mary Vigil, and Tony Casados. He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Casaus; children, Cecilia Casaus, Celestino (Tino) Casaus and wife, Judy, and Pat Casaus; grandchildren, Gabriel T. Casaus and wife, Monica, and Andrea M. Casaus; great-granddaughter, Jonauh R. Casaus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, January 25, 2007 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM at 7:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, January 26, 2007 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
