Veronica Tarango-Borgelt, 59, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in Albuquerque on December 27, 2006. following a long illness. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep attended by her husband. She faced her long illness with amazing strength, grace, courage, and dignity that deeply touched all who knew her. Ronnie is deeply missed by all of us that loved her so much. Born in Gallup, NM, on December 13, 1947, Ronnie was a graduate of Gallup High School, class of 1965. She worked for Rollie Mortuary; Schuelke & Head, Attorneys at Law; United Nuclear Corp, Churchrock unit; Cibola County Sheriff's Office, and Magistrate Court in Grants, NM. She had been a resident of Cibola County since 1982, living near Bluewater Village. Ronnie loved to garden and arrange flowers. She loved animals and was devoted to her pets. She never failed to feed or nurse the strays that often turned up on our doorstep. She is survived by her husband, Mark Borgelt; brothers, George Lloyd, Kenneth Lloyd, John Lloyd, and David Schmaltz. She was preceded in death by her mother Jenny Moreno-Schmaltz; father Richard Tarango and brother David Gonzales. Ronnie's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 2:00 PM at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5005 Corrales Rd, Corrales, NM. Her family will receive friends and relatives for lunch in the Parish hall after mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy, Ste 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
