Obituary for HURST

William David Hurst, a resident of New Mexico since 1962, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. He was born and raised in Chandler, OK, September 7, 1925. William was a cadet-in-training for the Army Air Corp by the end of WWII and graduated from O.S.U. (O.A.M.C.) with an agricultural/engineer degree. He served the U.S. Soil Conservation Service, later serving with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He served four years on the Mescalero Apache Reservation then transferred to the Area office in Albuquerque, retiring in 1979. A daughter, Janet, preceded him in death in 1973. William is survived by his wife, Betty; brother-in-law, Gene Grogan and wife, Janice of Potomac, MD; nephew, Patrick Grogan and wife, Dana of Tulsa, OK; nieces, Lisa Sams and husband, James of London, UK and Suzanne Lipscomb and husband, Jay of Dallas, TX; and four great-nephews and three great-nieces. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2006, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2006, 11:30 a.m., at Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, 2528 Utah St. NE, with Pastor Litton Logan officiating.
