Obituary for TAFOYA

Andrew (Drew) B. Tafoya, age 36, beloved son, brother, and grandson, passed away as a result of an accident in California, where he was currently residing. He was born in Albuquerque, and graduated from St. Pius High School in 1989. He served in the United States Army for eight years, as a Specialist E-4; and was involved with the UNM Army ROTC. Drew enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, hunting, baseball, and composing music. He was known as a "Diehard Denver Bronco fan"; and his favorite quote was "No Excuses, No Lies". Drew was a loving and caring person, who was very much loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nora H. Tafoya June 22, 2006. Drew is survived by his loving father, Harold Tafoya; his brother, Steven M. Tafoya and wife Carrie; his sister, Bernice N. Haro and husband 1st Lt. Ronald Haro; maternal grandfather, Merenciano Sandoval; godmother, Alice Sandoval; uncle Gene Tafoya; aunt, Maria Vigil; a special cousin, Gabriella Elionila Lopez; and girlfriend, Cara Diaz of Spencer, MS; numerous other family members and friends. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Javier Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Gene Tafoya, Carlos Tafoya, 1st Lt. Ronald Haro, and Isidro Gonzales. Honorary bearers will be Robert Miera, Mike Vigil, Tito Sandoval, and John Padilla. Funeral Services were entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services Alameda Mortuary 9420 4th Street NW 898-3160
