Obituary for CARRILLO

Tino Carrillo, 83, a life long resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on December 27, 2006. He was the son of Manuel Carrillo and Solidad Sarracino Carrillo. Tino is survived by his wife, Catherine Logan-Carrillo; sister, Olga Sandoval; daughters Rebecca and Carol Carrillo; and daughter-in-law Stephanie Perea. His grandchildren are Adrian, Monica, and Damian Moya, Elisha Carrillo, Marisol Mirabal, Celestino and Carece Carrillo. His great-grandchildren are Celine Moya and Samantha Lee Trujillo. He is also survived by his in-laws, Janice and Gene Matsuo, Tom and Jocelyn Logan, and John Logan. Tino was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Carrillo; his sister, Mary Shoats; and brothers Ramon, Roland, and Rudolfo Carrillo. He had strong, loving ties to many nephews and nieces, their children, and many close friends. He was cherished for his warthm, charisma, and humor. Tino was raised in Martineztown, served in the Army Air Crop in World War II, was a member of Post 13, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9676, and Veterans for Peace. He worked for the US Postal Service, and was supervisor for Albuquerque's downtown post office when he retired in 1971. Announcement of a Memorial Rememberance to be held later this week, will be published in the Journal and Tribune. His ashes will be placed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
