Obituary for KARNER

Steve Karner Jr., 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, formally of Milwaukee, passed away on Thursday December 21, 2006. He is survived by his children, William Karner of Milwaukee, Christine Tyler and husband Donald of Billings, Montana, and Richard Karner of Albuquerque. Also surviving are his five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Karner and grandson, Johnny. Steve was a World War II Naval Veteran where he served for 6 years. He retired from the Milwaukee Police Department after 20 years. After retirement, Steve moved to New Mexico where he was a beloved Crossing Guard of Onate Schools. He truly enjoyed working with children, reading, and watching the Green Bay Packers win. He was an active member of the American Legion, Retired Police and Fireman Association, and supported the Veterans Administration. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 29, 2006, 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Lomas Chapel. Interment will take place in Milwaukee.
