Dana Howe Prewitt, 85, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in Albuquerque, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 13, 1921 in Ewing, KY. She is the daughter of James E. and Frances Sherwood Howe. Dana was married in January 1942 to Aubrey W. Prewitt. She is survived by sons, James F. and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque, William T. and wife, Ruth of Katy, TX; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Nancy Donovan of Ewing, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Prewitt was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey W. Prewitt; sister, Belle Fischer; brothers, James E. Howe Jr., and William F. Howe; and infant grandson. She was a long-time resident of Logan, OH, where she and her husband owned International Carbon and Ribbon Co. An avid birder, she participated in a number of annual Hocking County Christmas bird counts. Mrs. Prewitt and her husband moved from Logan to Sarasota, FL in 1989 and lived there before moving to New Mexico in 2003. She made numerous friends in Albuquerque and continued her birding there.
