Obituary for MORRATO

Francis Joseph (Frank) Morrato, died peacefully in the company of his family on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the age of 80 years, after a long illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Lee Morrato; five children, Joe Morrato and wife, Debbie of Castle Rock, CO, Anna Morrato of Albuquerque, Kevin Morrato and wife, Janice of Littleton, CO, Mitzie Bower and husband, Tim of Albuquerque, and Laurie Broadfoot and husband, Brad of Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Dwyer of Denver, CO; and numerous other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Evelina DeSimone Morrato. He was born on June 26, 1926 in Denver, CO. Frank earned his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law from which he was subsequently awarded a Dr. of Jurisprudence Degree based on his expertise in various NM Land Grants. His illustrious career included 30 years as Vice President of the New Mexico Title Co. and many years as an officer of the NM Land Title Assn. including 2 years as President. Frank's title research and expertise contributed significantly to the expedited development of Winrock Shopping Center and what is now known as the City of Rio Rancho. He also served on the Board of Directors of the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation. One of his proudest professional and personal achievements was as an instructor at the Graduate Realtors Institute. Many real estate professionals in NM benefited from Frank's love of teaching and his willingness to share his professional knowledge and expertise. But, Frank was known mostly for his exemplary standards as a devoted spouse, generous and loving father, and a loyal friend. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, the corner of Lomas and Tennessee, on Thursday, December 21, 2006, 10:00 a.m. with Father Edward C. Domme, Celebrant. Interment will take place on at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, CO.
