Obituary for HARLAN

Allison Harlan, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1988, died Monday, December 18, 2006. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Clifford Roy Harlan; three children, Jason Clifford Harlan of Albuquerque, Peggy Harlan Simmons and husband, Jack, of Madison, NJ, and Carol Harlan Earp and husband, Douglas, of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Lia Simmons; brother, Walter Vanderbelt Scott and wife, Eloise of Houston, TX; and many other relatives and friends. Allison was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Elisabeth Kelemen. Allison was born on April 25, 1915 in Buffalo, NY to Walter Vanderbelt and Elisabeth Waldo Scott. She attended and graduated from Cooper Union School of Art in New York City. Allison worked for many years as a draftsman for Babcock and Wilcox in New York City and Rockaway Tank in Dover, NJ. She was a member of the Basking Ridge, NJ Presbyterian Church and, after moving to New Mexico, the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church of which she served as church historian from 1991 to 1996. Allison was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Basking Ridge, NJ Chapter. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 10:00 a.m. to the time of service. Graveside Services will take place at the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Moorestown, NJ on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 209, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or the Barrett Foundation Inc., 10300 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112 in Allison's name.
