Mabel Ruth Payne passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2006. Mabel was born on December 21, 1914 in Hoisington, KS to George and Elizabeth Galloway. She was preceded in death by he husband, Arthur J. Payne, after 67 years of marriage. She is survived by nephews, Raymond D. Gatterman of Albuquerque and Michael K Gatterman of Denver, CO and their families. Other survivors include a brother-in-law, Frank Payne of Spokane, WA; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Saxton of Caldwell, ID; and many nieces and nephews. Over the years Mabel participated in several organizations and recreational groups but her most abiding interest was her church. A long-time member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, she was very active in the church's music and charitable activities. A Memorial Service for Mabel is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at St. Paul's, 9500 Constitution NE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.
