Obituary for TURCICH

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday December 19, 2006

Gloria Carmen Turcich, 86, passed peacefully at home in Rio Rancho on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Gloria was born July 16, 1920 in Italy. At the age of 10, she moved to Astoria, NY with her family. While living in New York, she worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and raised two children with her husband Frank. After living in New York for 51 years, she and Frank moved to Albuquerque, NM where she lived for 11 years before moving to Rio Rancho. Grandma Glo was a grandmother to all the kids in our community. She loved to cook, tell stories, play canasta, collect turtles, and most importantly, she loved life and laugher. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet her knew she was one of the most loving, caring and genuine people ever. Though she had many friends, we consider ourselves to be "the lucky ones" because we had the opportunity to spend the most time with her. She was a true inspiration to many and will be greatly missed. We love you Grandma Glo!!! Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her son, Thomas; and her brother, Frank Lekich. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Robert Jensen; as well as her four grandchildren, Dustin and Gary Montano and Christina and Charles Turcich. A Graveside Service will be held for immediate family at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM where she will be joining her husband. Arrangements by Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Rd. Rio Rancho, New Mexico 892-9920
