Nancy J. Nelson passed away December 7, 2006 after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden R. Nelson and son, Michael S. Nelson. She is survived by her sons, Rick, Kerry and his wife, Andrea, and Christopher and his wife, Sandra; her brothers, John Thompson and Allan Thompson; her grandchildren, Sara and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Madeline; as well as her beloved dog, Kira. She retired from Sandia National Laboratories where she worked for over 43 years. She and her husband enjoyed collecting Indian Art, especially Indian jewelry, and they looked forward to going to the Santa Fe Indian Market yearly. Cremation has taken place and there will be a small private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nancy's name to People Living Through Cancer, designating "Ovarian Open Arms" as the recipient. She was a devoted and loving mother, who will be dearly missed by her family.
