Obituary for LAYMON

Duane R. Laymon long time resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2006 following his battle with cancer. Duane was born in New Vienna, OH on November 7, 1926 to Harley (Burch) Laymon and Ferrol R. Laymon and moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1945. Duane enlisted in the Army in 1945 and was discharged in 1952, enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and was discharged in 1958. Started in business in Albuquerque (Laymon Landscaping and Lawn Service) in 1958 and operated until retirement in 1986. He is survived by a brother Jacque and wife Jeanette, nephews Mark Laymon and Brett Laymon, nieces Kelley Vance, Mashell Laymon all of New Vienna, OH, niece Lt. Col. Jill Laymon of San Antonio, TX, Richard and Patricia Loucks and family, Dean & Barbra Rose and family of Albuquerque, NM, and a special friend, Trish Garner. Duane has a past membership in Albuquerque AM&FM Masonic Lodge 6, York Rite bodies, and Ballayd Abyad Shrine Temple 60 and served in the Shrine Motor Patrol and Greeters. He contributed to the crippled Children's Hospital becoming a life time member, life time member of the Disable American Veteran's Eugene P. Long Chapter 32, and present member of American Legion Post 49. Duane was very active in the Family Motor Coach Association, belonging to four chapters; Chaparral served as past President and Alternate National Director, Quatro Estatos served as Alternate National director, Achiever International served as Alternate National Director, Coast to Coasters served as National Director. He was a member of the Albuquerque Senior Centers and served as volunteer in several activities. Visitation is scheduled Monday, December 4, 2006, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE with Memorial Services, Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
