John P. Vanover Jr., affectionately known as "Geezer", 65, passed away November 29, 2006. John retired from the State of New Mexico Department of Labor, was a private pilot, a semi-professional singer and guitarist, a Harley Davidson enthusiast, was known for his great sense of humor, and was always the life of the room. He is preceded in death by his parents, John P. Vanover Sr. and Viola Vanover; brother, Mark James Vanover; sister, Phillis Costley; daughter, Mary Celeste Vanover; and great-grandson, Devin Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Isabel Vanover; sons, John Ross Vanover, Michael Paul Vanover and wife, Gizelle Ordonez-Vanover, William Mark Vanover and wife, Tania, James Edward Vanover, and Steven Matthew Vanover and wife, Amethyst Marciano-Vanover; sisters Joan Roberts and husband, John Maddox Roberts, Gayle Maggard and husband, Roger, and Debbie Standifer; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
