Obituary for PERLA

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday December 01, 2006

Sarita Perla, "Granny," died at home with her family Friday, November 24, 2006. Granny was born in New York, where she continued to live and work as a legal secretary. Sarita was an amazing soul - a master bridge player, a world traveler, and a lifelong advocate of education. She ensured that generations of her children would receive college educations. Sarita moved to Albuquerque from Manhattan in 1997 to be closer to her family. She is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey Parks; her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Willow Misty Parks, Lonnie McGuinn, Cory McGuinn-Parks, Monique Parks, Destiny McGuinn Madrid Parks, and Kristiana McGuinn Madrid Parks. Sarita passed just short of her 88th birthday. We will never forget her amazing love, unfaltering support and exemplary guidance. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2006, 11:00 a.m., at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
