Obituary for WHITEHEAD

Evelyn Hazel Whitehead, 86, of Norman, OK, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman, officiated by Pastor David Nehrenz. Arrangements were entrusted to Guardian Norman Funeral Home. She was born on April 20, 1920 in Vera, Illinois to her parents, Xaver and Wilhemina Wiss. Evelyn married the love of her life, Eugene Whitehead on October 2, 1948 in St. Louis, MO and lived in Chicago until 1953 when they moved to OKC. They were very active in their church, Immanuel Lutheran. Evelyn and Eugene moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1973. Evelyn was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League through her church at Redeemer Lutheran. She moved to Norman, OK in 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest brother, Harold, youngest brother Lawrence, her sisters, Mildred Hoffman and AnnaBelle Mitchell. She is survived by her husband, Eugene of 58 years; twin sons, Thomas of Port Orford, OR and Richard and wife, Vicky of Norman; Grandchildren Scott and Rebecca Whitehead; brother, Everett Wiss and wife, Mary of Rogers, AR; sister, Jeannie Worker and husband, Dale of Klamath, CA; sister, Dorothy Koehrer of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews and their adopted family Bill, Linda and Jennifer Kemp of Albuquerque, NM, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
