Obituary for SUESS

Irma L. Suess, age 98, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006. She was born March 29, 1908 in Buffalo, New York to Dr. Christian and Clara Suess. Irma was valedictorian of St. Mary's High School she went on to attend the University of Rochester. After graduation, she wrote for the Lancaster Enterprise and was their first woman editor. Irma moved to Albuquerque in 1952 and was a Professor at the College of St. Joseph. She was a member of the Secular Order of the Carmelites for over 50 years. Irma loved to play the piano, was an avid golfer and ice skater, and even swam on her 80th birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Arthur, Frederick and Lester. Irma is survived by her many good friends and a special caregiver, Carol Ellis. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., with interment following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Irma's final request was that donations be made to the Catholic Charity of your choice.
