Ronald L. Wheeler, age 65, of Albuquerque, went to be with his Lord, after a long struggle with Lou Gehrig's Disease, on Monday, October 23, 2006. Ron was a 1960 graduate of Albuquerque High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Ron attended Albuquerque TVI for two years majoring in Business. He became an ultrasonic X-ray technician with G.E. for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Ron was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher with Bella Vista Baptist for 10 years. He was a very devoted Christian and worked with the Seniors at Gospel Light Baptist Church. Ron was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren with all of his heart. He was a very giving person, always placing others needs in front of his own. Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ida V. Wheeler; three sons, Ron L. Wheeler, Jr. and Shauna, Leo V. Wheeler and his wife. Christina, and Patrick E. Wheeler and his wife. Rosemary; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brandon, Marie, John, Nick; brother, Dan Wheeler and his wife. Dorothy; sisters, Elaine Cross and husband. Ray, Jeanine Gaines and husband. Jerry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Frances Wheeler. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1500 Southern Blvd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM. Friends may visit Wednesday, October 25, 2006 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at French Mortuary Westside Chapel. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd.
