Obituary for CHAVEZ

Elena Chavez, 71, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 after a brief illness. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and was employed by the City of Belen. Elena was preceded in death by her parents, Nestor and Delphina Sanchez; sisters, Vicky and JoAnn Sanchez, and Clorinda Chavez; and her brother, Lawrence Sanchez. Also preceding her in death was her companion, Gillie Gonzales. She is survived by her children, Richard Chavez and his wife, Luz, Susan Romero and her husband, Paul, and Annette Chavez; eight grandchildren, Carlene Mazon and her husband, Josh, David, Anntherese, Christine and Carolyn Romero, Roseanna, Angela and Mark Chavez; two great- grandchildren, Dominic and Nathan Mazon; brothers, Rosendo Sanchez and his wife, Bertha, Joe Sanchez and his wife, Margaret, Joseph Sanchez and his wife, Joanna, Albert Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, and Leroy Olguin; sisters, twin sister, Angela Olguin, Pilar Willingham, and Anita Cordova and her husband, Eusebio. She is also survived by her beloved pet, Selena; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. With the utmost respect to Elena's wishes cremation will then take place and interment will be at a later date.
