Avery A. Lockner, 92, a resident of Bernalillo County since 1981, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006. He was born in upstate New York, lived in Rockland County, NY and retired to Tijeras, NM. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; children, Peter, Gretchen Kryda (John), Thomas (Donna,) and David (Robin); grandchildren, Steven, Julie, Elizabeth, David, Catherine, Christine, and Charles; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by grandson, Christopher. He was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Prior to retirement, he was a recording engineer in New York City for notables Patti Page, Count Basie, Mitch Miller, Lowell Thomas, six Cinerama motion pictures and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
