Obituary for GILL

Katherine Baker Gill, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 of complications from squamous cell skin cancer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan Baker Corzine and Norman R. Corzine, and her grandson, James Corzine. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James F. Baker; her second husband, Alfred R. Gill; and her sister, Elaine M. Lynch. Kay earned her AB degree in Economics and Pre-law from Duke University, where she was president of the Pi Beta Phi chapter, and her MA in Counseling from the University of New Mexico. She also attended Graduate School at the University of Wisconsin. She was a teacher and counselor with the Albuquerque Public Schools for a number of years and also served as an instructor at the University of Albuquerque. A private memorial service at St. Mark's-on- the-Mesa Episcopal Church was held.
