Obituary for VIRAG

Viola J. Virag, 61, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006, at her home. She lived in Bosque Farms for over 30 years, born in Marfa, Texas on March 11, 1945. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Peralta and her favorite hobby was playing the slot machines. She loved being with her family and friends and especially with her 11 grandchildren. She loved taking photographs of everyone. Birthdays and Holidays were her favorite part of the year. She is survived by her children, Javier Virag of Albuquerque; Dominick and wife Lisa Virag of Las Cruces; Jackie Virag of Albuquerque; Angela and husband Ralph Miramontes of Los Lunas; and Leticia and husband Tony Pena of Los Lunas. She is also survived by four sisters: Mellie Benavidez of Las Cruces; Tommie and husband Pete Talsma of South Dakota; Eva Jacquez of Las Cruces; and Mary Ann and husband Victor Garcia of Dona Ana; and her mother-in-law Ida Virag and sister-in-laws all of Arizona. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; the Lugo family of Albuquerque and Duran family of Bosque Farms. She is predeceased by her husband Lawrence Virag, Jr.; her parents Enriqueta and Estanislado Jacquez; her sister Elva Jacquez and her father-in-law Lawrence Virag. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 17, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Peralta, the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Fr. Albert Gallegos will be officiating. Burial will be at Fair View Cemetery in Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be Nicky Benavidez, Steven McCoy, Eppy McCoy, Ray Talsma, Joseph Garcia, Narcisco Lugo, Matthew Virag, and Joel Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilbert Jacquez, Danny Benavidez, Ronnie Garcia, Martin Benavidez, Hector Jacquez and Freddy Jacquez. Arrangements are through Strong Thorne Mortuary at 1100 Coal Avenue, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to your favorite foundation or cause.
