Obituary for REIDY

Lois Miller Reidy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away September 28, 2006 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 5, 1918 outside Wataskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Louise and Verne Miller. The family moved to Oklahoma and in 1929 to Albuquerque where she attended Lincoln Jr. High and Albuquerque High School, graduating in 1936. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed her time in the support of her children's school and sport activities. Lois proudly worked for the Legal Aid Society of Albuquerque for sixteen years and served on the Judicial Standards Committee for many years. She was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Robert Reidy and her granddaughter, Leslie Louise McDonnell. Lois is survived by her children, Lois Eileen Reidy-Richardson, Dr. Robert Reidy and wife, Kathy, Richard Reidy and wife, Dianne, and Tim Reidy and companion, Linda Schaeffer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Pammela Wynn, Robert Bradley McDonnell, Marcella Stevens, John Strader, Matthew Strader, Dr. Kristin Reidy, Tim Reidy, Kaitlin Reidy, Lauren Reidy, John Reidy, and Robert Reidy; sixteen great-grandchildren; her step-mother, Jewel Kaufman and husband, Edward; and many nieces and nephews. The family is deeply appreciative of family and friends who provided comfort and support to Lois, with special thanks to her granddaughter, Pammela Wynn and to her dear friend, Carlotta Gonzales. The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Paul E. Pierce, Dr. Lorraine Sanchez and Hospice. Lois will be remembered for her love and family loyalty, her strength and courage, and her sense of humor and wit.
