Obituary for CARROLL

ROBERT L. Sergeant First Class Robert L. Carroll, USA (Ret.), 75, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, September 25, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sachiko Carroll; four children, Robert Carroll Jr. and wife, Rose, Joyce Zamora and husband, David, Charles Carroll and wife, Rosaline, and Hiromi C. Moroney and husband, Daniel; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Daddy was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers; and one sister. He was born on June 22, 1931 in Hopewell, AL and joined the United States Air Force in Birmingham in 1949. After his discharge in 1953, he entered the United States Army in March of 1954 and continued to serve until his retirement on July 31, 1971. Daddy proudly served his country receiving numerous awards including three Purple Hearts, Air Medal and Army Commendation Medal for Heroism. He was a devoted husband, loving dad and grandpa and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Private services will be held, at his request and interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, October 5, 2006.
