Obituary for STERLING

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday September 15, 2006

David Christopher Sterling, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2006. David lived life in a grand way. Through his sensitive caring heart, thought of others before himself, gregarious storytelling and sense of humor, David touched all who knew and loved him. David's stories made you smile so hard your jaw ached, and laugh until your stomach hurt. David loved his friends and family, especially his granddad Albin with whom he enjoyed fishing and hunting. His "pop", Joseph Vertrees, meant the world to David, and was his strength and inspiration. The love of his mother, Janet Vertrees, gave David wings on which to soar in life. David and his older brother, Joey, were inseparable in their early years, sharing countless adventures. David adored his little sister, Sarah, and was always at the ready to protect her while growing up. David admired his sisters, Krystal and Marissa, and mentored them as they grew older. David and his countless friends formed an inseparable bond as they caroused and explored life. A visitation and night watch will begin Friday, September 15, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Mountainside United Methodist Church, 4 Penny Lane, Cedar Crest, NM, with a Service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2006 at MUMC.
