George Demming, Pearl Harbor survivor, career military man, and longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 in Jacksonville, FL. Born January 14, 1916, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean and daughter, Cheryl Kirschbaum. He is survived by Cheryl's daughters, Melissa Green and Sarah Mansell and great-grandson, Pierce Green; step-children, Jack and Vicki Merwin, Mrs. Lois Lane; step-grandchildren, Sandy Winfrey, Vicki Lynn Waitman, Ann Pelletier, Wayne Merwin, Terry Merwin and their children, Katie Pelletier, Heather Pelletier, Abby Waitman, Seth Waitman, Zachary Merwin and Crystal Merwin. Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2006 at Santa Fe National Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Kirtland Air Force Base Honor Guard.
