Obituary for SANCHEZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday August 29, 2006

Quin R. Sanchez, age 42, a lifelong resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2006. Quin loved motorcycles and cars and he died doing what he loved to do most, and that was riding his Harley Davidson on a beautiful Sunday evening. He was an avid motorcycle and car restorer and his Harley was dressed with chrome and leather. He restored a 1972 2-wheel drive Chevy Blazer. It was a true work of love and art and his Blazer won many awards at car shows throughout New Mexico and Arizona. Quin was an avid gun collector and he took great pride in his ability as a marksman. All of us remember Quin working in the food and beverage industry in Valencia County for well over 22 years. He worked for Landmark Foods in Belen for many years and he was well known as the manager of Discount Liquors in Belen and his rapport with his customers and his peers was unsurpassed. The greatest love of his life was his niece, Caitlyn and nephew, Ryan Lucero. He spent as much time as he could with them and he was always there for them no matter what. Quin loved all of his family and was close to every one of them. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ramon and Dora Jaramillo Ortega; paternal grandfather, Otoniel C. Sanchez; three uncles, David Ortega, Mike Storey, and Michael P. Sanchez. Quin is survived by his parents, Raynaldo Sanchez and Gemma Roselli; his three siblings, Damon Sanchez, Felicia Nieto and her husband, Charles, and Thera Lucero and her husband, Chris; his loving and devoted grandmother, Ernestina "Little Grandma" Sanchez; and his very loving and devoted niece and nephew, Caitlyn and Ryan Lucero; aunt, Sandra Armijo and her husband, Jake; three uncles, B. Paul Ortega, Carlos Sanchez, and Andrew Sanchez; and many loving cousins and friends. Per Quin's request cremation has taken place.
