Obituary for LUCERO

Ernest Lucero, 76, went home to be with the Lord on August 24, 2006. He was born on November 7, 1929, to Apolonio and Filicita Lucero in Antonchico, New Mexico. Ernest was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. He enjoyed walking, going out to eat, and going out the see the horse races. He also loved building homes and laying brick. He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Ramon, Milton, Juan, and Herman Lucero; also by his four sisters, Ignacita and Eufamia Lucero, Rebecca Marez, and Rita Jaramillo. Ernest is survived by Rick Espalin and wife, Jeanne and family, Nora Lucero, Lena Martinez, Tony Jaramillo, Anthony Chavez and wife, Theresa and family, Beatrice Lucero, Juanita Lucero, Tony Marez and wife, Grace, Rick Jr. Espalin and wife, Mande and family, Steven Espalin, Pete Marez, Zeke Espalin and wife, Victoria, Juanita Lucero and husband, Dicky, Isaac Jaramillo, Eric Chavez, Velli Chavez, Cindy Marez, Kathy Marez, Raymond Jaramillo, Ivan Chavez and wife, Lucille; nieces, Mercy Lucero, Jennifer Lucero, and Jeanette Ward; and by nephew, Anthony Jaramillo. He will be deeply missed by all. Visitations for Ernest will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Garcia Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers for Ernest will be, Rick Espalin Jr., Zeke Espalin, Steven Espalin, Brian Lucero, Isaac Chavez, and Ray Marez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Martinez, Ivan Chavez, Jhonny Martinez, Pete Marez, and Tony Marez. Funeral services are in the care of: GARCIA MORTUARY 717 Stover Ave. SW 243-5222
